Nicholas Theis’ research focuses on the human drivers of environmental change and inequality, environmental knowledge production, and rural environmental issues. His work interrogates how international trade shapes relationships between extraction and environmental harm, the organization of environmental and climate science, and how rural identities inform perceptions of environmental problems. Currently, he is interested in the intersections of rurality, climate change and obstructionism, and public policy.
