Zeina (She/Her) is an aspiring scholar-activist currently pursuing her PhD in Sociology at McGill University. Her research interests include environmental activism in the Southwest/North African (SWANA) region, politics of environmental activism and movements, and theories of environmental postcolonialism.
In particular, she looks at how environmental activists in the SWANA region coordinate and communicate across geographic and socio-political boundaries to build collective strategies for climate and environmental justice.
This research builds upon her HBSc and MES, which she completed at the University of Toronto. Her MES research examined how racialized diasporic communities were taking up sustainable lifestyles through community health centres.
