Dr Tariro Kamuti holds a joint PhD in Geography from the Vrije University Amsterdam, The Netherlands and the University of the Free State, South Africa. He is a Research Fellow with the African Wildlife Economy Institute of Stellenbosch University, the Centre for Gender and Africa Studies at the University of the Free State and the Global Risk Governance Programme at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. He is also a Research Fellow of the Earth System Governance, with an interest in the Taskforce on Governance of Nature and Biodiversity. Tariro is a member of the Society of South African Geographers, the Regional Studies Association, United Kingdom, and the International Society of Sustainability Professionals, United States of America. His research interests are broadly around climate change, land and environmental policy with a particular focus on governance issues surrounding the sustainable utilisation of natural resources, and the social dimensions of nature conservation. Currently is a 2022 grantee of the CSSN and working on the politics of climate change in Zimbabwe.
