Andrew Barnes is an Associate Professor of International Studies at Kent State University, which is in Ohio, USA. Andrew’s research and teaching interests concern the interaction of wealth and power, whether in conflicts over large-scale industrial enterprises, the operation of the international financial system, efforts to communicate or obfuscate knowledge about climate change, or conditions of housing uncertainty in the US. His first book was called Owning Russia: The Struggle over Factories, Farms, and Power (Cornell University Press), and his articles have appeared in Review of International Political Economy, Problems of Post-Communism, Post-Soviet Affairs, and Comparative Politics, among others.
