CSSN scholar Sofia Hiltner recently published a piece in Springer Nature which displays the lack of sociological focus on climate change. Hiltner uses a mixed-methods approach that combines content analysis and institutional analysis to exemplify the minimal mentions of climate change in journal articles, conference sessions, faculty bios, and course listings. Climate change is a social problem, and integrating social science perspectives into climate change research, teaching, and policymaking is critical in enhancing societal responses to the ongoing crisis.
