CSSN Scholar Marco Grasso and colleague Daniel Delatin Rodrigues‘s article introduces the concept of the ‘fossil machine,’ a powerful network supporting fossil fuels and hindering their phase-out. To advance decarbonization, the article suggests a new reticular approach to deactivate this network. It applies this approach to a case study involving coal plants in Civitavecchia, Italy, which were planned for conversion to gas before the project was abandoned. Read the full article here.
