Nathan Lemphers is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Ottawa. His research focusses on the power and politics that hinder and hasten the necessary transition towards a decarbonized and more just society. His book project examines the contested politics of climate change in three petro-states: Australia, Canada, and Norway. It argues the need for a strong and democratic state to disrupt entrenched status-quo interests in order to swiftly implement a Green New Deal.
