In this brief developed by the Climate Obstruction in Authoritarian and Non-Democratic States working group, researchers share the challenges they faced when investigating climate obstruction in restrictive environments. Experts break down the methodological, ethical, and practical problems they have faced, and provide concrete solutions that fellow researchers can use as they conduct their own projects – both within and outside of the climate obstruction field.
