Amber Khan is a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences at the University of Washington and a Participatory Action Research Fellow at the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee. She is an interdisciplinary disaster scholar whose research explores both community-led and policy solutions to the intersecting climate and housing crises, and their compounding impacts on displacement and gentrification. Her interests also address post-disaster land grabs by developers that displace communities, ultimately perpetuating the practice of disaster capitalism. Amber leads the Homelessness, Housing Precarity, and Disaster Network, an international network that convenes housing advocates around homelessness and disaster issues.
