Carly Lubicz-Zaorski (Lubicz) researches hybrid media and communications systems, examining how networks of actors leverage these spaces to influence environmental protection, climate policy, and emissions reduction in Australia. Her methodology centres on social network analysis, mapping actor coalitions to understand claim-making patterns and alignments. Following an early career in journalism, public relations, and government, she transitioned to research, motivated to understand the dynamics and drivers of inaction and obstruction in contemporary communications spaces. Currently completing her PhD at Queensland University of Technology, her current focus is the renewable energy transition in Australia, including wind and nuclear energy debates.
