Christian is an Assistant Professor of Sustainability at Penn State’s School of International Affairs. Previously, he was a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) Postdoctoral Fellow at Brown University’s Climate Solutions Lab. He received my Ph.D. in Political Science at the University of Toronto, where he was a SSHRC Bombardier Canada Graduate Scholar from 2020-2023.

Christian’s research focuses on how the environmental impacts of corporations are governed across borders, especially for financial institutions like banks and insurance companies. He’s also interested in the effects of global governance complexity, and how public and private authorities collaborate or compete in the climate regime.
