Dr. Crystal Felima is an Assistant Professor in Anthropology and African American & Africana Studies at the University of Kentucky. As a cultural anthropologist and feminist scholar in disaster studies, her research surveys disaster narrative experiences to explore ecological crises in Haiti, global racial capitalism, and Caribbean climate change futures. She is a co-series editor for the Berghahn Books’ Catastrophes in Context series. Dr. Felima has experience working as an emergency management specialist, geospatial analyst, and equity advisor at the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in Washington, DC.
