Emma Longo is a master’s student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she researches climate disinformation. During summer 2025, she interned at The Center for Climate Integrity and solo-authored a report on how fossil fuel companies greenwash business practices to consumers.

During her undergraduate career at Boston University, Longo worked on a research team that aimed to study the origins and spread of climate mis- and disinformation. Independently, she crafted a research project on the use of native advertisements in news media by fossil fuel companies. She presented her findings at a conference in Washington, D.C.

Longo’s research aims to inform the public about climate deception narratives and to uncover the nuanced nature of greenwashing.
