Frederic Traylor is a Postdoctoral Associate with the Boston University Institute for Global Sustainability where he studies how industries can shift their energy needs to renewable electricity instead of fossil fuels. More broadly, he researches the acceptability of climate change solutions by both organizations and the general public. At the organizational level, he studies how organizations choose to take on climate change as an issue and the organizational logics that lead to taking on various climate solutions. Among individuals, he studies how solution acceptance is shaped by social institutions, including government, religion, science, and the family. He also studies social methodology, seeking to improve how scientists study the social world through surveys, focus groups, and participant observation. He holds a PhD in Sociology from Rutgers University.
