Gaspard Lemaire is a PhD candidate in Political Science at the Earth Chair of the University of Angers. His research focuses on the concept of “climate atrocity,” which seeks to reconceptualize climate-related violence as a new category of mass atrocity, distinct from genocide, crimes against humanity, and ecocide. He also led an investigation into the contamination of French drinking water networks by vinyl chloride monomer, a known carcinogenic gas, and is currently expanding this research at the European level.
