Kristin Timm studies and teaches communication to improve connections between science and society to respond to a changing climate. She is a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Alaska Fairbanks’ International Arctic Research Center and a Lecturer at the Yale School of Public Health. She has a Ph.D. in communication from George Mason University where she worked with the Center for Climate Change Communication on several projects related to climate change and U.S. news. Before pursuing her doctorate, Dr. Timm spent over a decade working as a project manager and professional science communicator, helping teams communicate polar and climate science. Having worked in both science communication research and practice, she is interested in linking research and practice and building the capacity to use communication effectively to address the climate crisis.
