Luis Rivera-Vélez is a postdoctoral researcher at the Center for Mexican and Central American Studies (CEMCA) in Mexico City. His research focuses on climate obstruction strategies in Mexico, analyzing how delay, inaction, and denial have shaped leftist governments’ approaches to environmental policy. Previously, he has examined the challenges of cannabis legalization in Mexico and Colombia, as well as the climate agenda of the UN Secretary-General.
