Tyler Schuenemann is an Assistant Professor of Environmental and Sustainability Studies at Keene State College. His research examines the politicization of tropical cyclones in the United States and Oman. Using ethnographic observations, interviews, and archival research, he documents how both democratic and authoritarian regimes are increasingly facing off against dissidents in contests over how everyday people understand disasters.
