Special Projects

CSSN special projects are an extension of the research done by our working groups and internal researchers.

Our goal with these projects is to expand our research beyond published materials, and provide tools and resources in an accessible format. We’re still in the early stages of launching this effort, so for now we’re sharing a couple of projects, including our CSSN Greenwashing Assessment Tool, the Brown Climate and Development Lab website and State-Level Lobbying web tool.

Greenwashing Assessment Tool

How do you know if a statement is greenwashing? By researching and asking the right questions. The Integrated Framework to Assess Greenwashing (IFTAG) was developed by a team of natural scientists, social scientists, and communication researchers. You can use this framework to identify greenwashing in public statements, ads, claims and practices.

The Climate and Development Lab (CDL)

The Climate and Development Lab (CDL) is a student-led think tank at Brown University informing a more just, equitable and effective climate change policy, which produces scholarly articles, briefs, websites, and other tools for researching climate obstruction.
